The marine hatch cover is access to cabin and deck which can be easily opened and handled by the crew. Commonly used small hatch covers are in two kinds, one is the weathertight hatch cover, usually installed in the deck above the freeboard deck and semi-enclosed open-deck superstructure or deck room interior deck; The other is a non-weathertight hatch cover that can only be used on a deck or platform inside the ship.
The fire-proof watertight hatch cover is a sort of hatch cover which is watertight and fireproof. This hatch cover is suitable for ship voids where fire protection and watertight are required. It meets the fire requirement stated in SOLAS 1974 and amendments in 1978. It can withstand the pressure 0.05MPa in general.
